Corner - Cylinder Heads

Cylinder Heads on a Toyota V6 Engine
When removing the cylinder heads on a Toyota 3VZE V6 engine, it is next to impossible to remove the crossover pipe nuts. Rather than struggling with the nuts, remove both heads with the crossover still attached between them. After putting the whole assembly on the bench, it's much easier to remove the nuts from the left cylinder head.

When you are ready to reinstall the heads, install the right side head with the crossover still attached to it. Once the right head is in place, slide the left head studs into the crossover flange. Use new nuts on the studs, then retorque everything to specifications.
