Mitsubishi Valve Guide Repairs
A small propane torch will aid in the removal of the valve seals on Mitsubishi 3.0 liter V6 engines. Apply a small amount of heat to the metal-jacketed valve seals, and they should pry right off without any effort.

Also on these engines, watch for valve guides that may have moved down in the cylinder head. This is a common problem that most often seems to afflict the exhaust valve guides. Compare the valve guide heights to one another, and measure them if necessary to determine whether they have moved downward. Measurement may not be necessary, as these guides occasionally move all the way down! Replacement valve guides with integral snap rings are available to correct this problem.
