DK Motor Revival - BMW 750![]()
Several BMW 750iL models have come into our shop with poor running complaints. More times than not, the cause of these problems has been the DK motors that are part of the electronic throttle control system on this model's 12 cylinder engine. The replacement cost of the DK motors is approximately $1400 per motor.
Before replacing a motor, we have found that it's worth loosening the four bolts that secure the motor by about a 1/4 of an inch, then spraying tuner cleaner (available at Radio Shack) on the DK motor contacts before reassembling the motor. Make sure the seal is properly installed before re-tightening the screws.
