Tech Tip Corner Ford Bronco II and Ranger Release Bearings

1985-92 Ford Bronco II and Ranger vehicles could come equipped with either a two piece or one piece clutch release bearing. The Niehoff N1738SA and N1754 bearings are the one piece design. When replacing the old style two piece style bearing, be sure to remove the piston/spacer from the inside of the slave cylinder. If not removed it is possible to overstroke the clutch fingers and cause slipping and noise.
